About John Greco
I grew up in New York City and developed a serious interest in photography while serving in Vietnam where I purchased my first 35mm camera (Pentax). After returning to civilian life, and while working a 9 to 5 job, I took classes in the evening at the New York Institute of Photography. On weekends I roamed the streets of New York photographing the city. At night, I would set up a dark room, to develop black and white prints, working out of the kitchen of my apartment. Since moving to Florida in 1997, my focus has shifted to nature, landscape and wildlife while still keeping an open eye for other subject matter.
Member of the Professional Association of Visual Artists (PAVA), The Photographic Arts Society of Florida and the North American Nature Photography Association. His photographs have been exhibited at the Ruth Eckerd Exhibition Hall, Honeymoon Island Nature Center, Dazzio Art Gallery, Safety Harbor Historical Museum and local libraries.
